country #38

I arrived in Copenhagen at 7.00 in the morning by bus. At 15.00 I left the city by plane. Here are places I visited during my time here.

Do you have a layover in this danish capital? Why not take the opportunity to explore the capital of Denmark? Here are some tips for you what to visit in this city.

It takes only 15 minutes to get from the airport to the city by metro. One-way ticket costs around 4,5 Euro.

1. Strøget - Copenhagen's famous shopping street

Strøget is one of Europe's longest pedestrian streets with a wealth of shops, from budget-friendly ones to some of the world's most expensive.

2. Amalienborg Palace

It is the home of the Danish royal family.
Amalienborg was built in the 1750s as the center of the surrounding Frederiksstaden district. You can watch the guard's shift every day at 12.00.

3. Nyhavn - 17th-century waterfront, canal and entertainment district

It is lined by brightly coloured 17th and early 18th century townhouses and bars, cafes and restaurants. It is a must-see in this capital.

4. The little mermaid

At Langelinje Pier you will find one of Copenhagen's most famous tourist attractions: The sculpture of bronze and granite, inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale about a mermaid.

5. Tivoli gardens

If you still have time, visit this amusement park in the center of Copenhagen.

After visiting all the important sights I decided to go from the city centre to the airport by walk. Althought it took more than 2 hours, I enjoyed this trip very much.

In conclusion - Copenhagen is a beautiful city which you should see in your lifetime.
